mo/e uw solo, will drive SS/SV out of business
I call this build the "I Burn I" build, IT combines the
Spell breaker for nightmare safety and uses an alternative source of damage,
instead of the fancy SS or holy wrath, it will burn its enemies to death
The build is quite simple, get a shirt less monk,
spread your attribute around like this (after rune)
10 protection
10 smite
10 divine favor
12 fire magic
skill used:
BURNING SPEED
spirit bond
protective spirit
Spell Breaker(E)
OPTIONAL (I use divine boon for extra healing)
Blathazar spirit
Essense bond
Retribution
This build will take the axtez and smitey down with in a minute, cold night is like a breeze.
though, i'm still in practicing phase with this build
the killing of squiddy is bit hard, I usually kil them along with axatzes so their extra healing can heal of me. make sure you dont case spell simultinouesly, they can skull crack 1/4 second spells .
If anyone want help me practicing this build i'll be glad to do so, I still die 1/2 the time from squiddys my IGN is "Pelius the Seer", or on my other account "Sage Tank"
Also, if you have the HAWT starter's low AL armor, I suggest you boast your hp to as high as possible to take more damage.
the -7 degen and damage from retribution will kill the axtaze very fast
Here is a list of advice so far:
grasping is a problem, but take off your shirt is one way to cope problem but here is a list of what i do...
-fight axtaze and grasp in same time, keep your hp at 300 so the extra healing from axtazes will recover the graspinping's damage, and whadda u know, grasping always die first
-never aggro more than 1 group, the 2 group's random skull crack will often hit one of you 1/4 second spell
-take off shirt, thats why we call it a skirtless monk =)))
-use divine boon
-never... ever... cast 2 spell in a row, they try to interrupt your spirit bond, and may hit protective spirit
- On worst case, if u get dazed... RUN!!!!!!
- also if you really really good, just move right and left when they attack.
because when you move, grasping inflict 100% critical hit, their critical hit
even with flurry does 60+ damage- But there is one catch, when you stop
moving, stop for half a second before casting, grasping does an automatic
interrupt when you stop moving
-DONT GET GREEDY WITH RETRIBUTION"S DAMAGE when fighting squiddy!!!! keep your hp at low can be beneficial since your healing is worth more againist annoying low damage foes
Here are some advice when fighting smites:
-don't cast burning speed asap, let their energy drain when they attack you and retribution does damage back, you will know if they are low in energy because they will stop spam rof, then you time burning speed so they dont have energy to immediate removal, but will be burned for few second, then they remove, you burn them again, they have no energy etc etc
-take one of my favorite skill "FLAME BURST", it just owns the smite but may cost a bit energy, 99 damage per 5 second is pretty high
Advice on Coldnight:
-malestrom is your friend, you can't get interrupted, and they heal your and restor your energy
-if you want them to stop healing, use spell breaker, if they cant cast, they die. But on the down side, when they wand you you take lot damage
NOTE: This is an interesting fact I have noticed, when I play at home, when there is a fast internet and skill instantly activate skill after click, 1/4 second skill cannot be skull cracked. However, when i was playing at school today, I got my frigging skull cracked 5 times, died 3 times. So note, if you have a slow internet connection, beware, something is with the AI interrupt, its like they know when you are going to activate skills.
P.S. I have friend list turned off, too many question and I'm still trying to practice
If anyone want to try this build on other parts of UW please do and post your result, I only did the frozen wasteland with smite and the chamber, any brave venture exploration into terrorweb is appreciated =)
Also, this build works in fow also, just burn the mesmer then monk (put scourage healing on them they go down like doggies, stupid moron try to save the others) to death first, and DONT SPAM, SS from the necro makes is pointless to try salvage healing from divine favor, just go shirtless, I have seen too many idiots trying to wear 15 al armor on chest, head, and arm. It took few tries but yesterday I was able to clear the hill of shadow army, it wasn't as difficult as i thought it would. And I packed scourage healing in fow for the monks.

Other than these advices, I would really love any donations, to build this build I already spent 15+k in and out from UW and buying skills, and so far I merely gotten 1 ecto .

How long would it take to kill Ataaxes without any Smiting? Seems safer to go with 55/Healing than 605/Smiting, as long as it will kill them.

No SS/SV = no visage = graspings causing dazed and flurry = you getting interupted and not taking enough damage to trigger SB
I'm sure you can probably pull off a few runs, but I don't see how this is better than the SS/SB duo run. I've tried several solo builds and the necro/monk UW duo run is still the most reliable and fastest and therefore has provided the most net profit.
The ways to deal with Graspings are good advice, but your build still seems about as reliable as the Rt/Me vengeful UW solo build, which I have tried and made a very minor profit from using compared to my monk/necro runs.

If Dahnel's solo Rt/Me build wasn't profitable to you, then you simply weren't good at it or didn't understand how to use the build. It's rediculously fast and VERY easy. You can finish a run in less time than a 2 man team and you don't have to split ecto drops. The only advantage a 2 man team has is the ability to kill the aatxes, which haven't dropped much ecto for me anyway. I've done about 25-30 successful runs in a row now without dieing, and I've talked with others that rarely die now using Dahnel's build.
I'll try this new build when I get home. The key to the grasps is to take them with the aatxes just as the OP stated. Same principle as the dual sb / smite monk team. With shing jea level 15 armor and aatxe's providing the damage for spirit bond, grasps are just a road bump to the smites.

i'm pretty poor right now, so i only got major runes on the armor, but I use -50 hp grimmy to keep my health relatively low around 380(after deep wound its 300ish) retribution do 10 damage, i kill grasps easily with healing from divine boon and going shirt less, but most important thing is not to activate 2 spell in row as their skull crack will destroy you, unless you run that is and btw, if your Spirit bond and PS is still active when u run, your survival rate is 100%, as anything hit you when u run is critical damage, and it will heal u . However if u r unlucky and accidentally run into a hidden night mare, say good bye. This build work as fast as SS/SV if u are getting better at it.
BTW it helps having +20 enchant, since the after the 6 second of burning speed, you can instantly activate the next one and now how to time the burning. FIre magic is not required to be 12, make it 10 or 9 also work, let it burn for least 7 seconds. NO DO NOT GO 55 using this build, YOU WILL BE BURNT TO DEATH!!!

Spoken like a true a**hole. Build threads don't get closed for working, you're greedy, you should probably leave.
Going to try this soon, seems like it's gotten good feedback. Congrats on thinking of it.
Oh, and Sage, I spent 30k doing UW runs with a guildie to get him used to being the 55, only made like 10k back, so I feel your pain But it'll pay off in the long run.
